Types of Composite Film
The composite films produced by our company mainly include the following types:
VHB Adhesive Tape
Excellent adhesion performance, with good adhesion to surfaces that are difficult to adhere to, such as metals, plastics, wood, paper, and organic silicon.
PET Adhesive Tape
Bonding on screen membrane switches, fixing ABS plastic components in the automotive industry, rubber EPDM bonding, and bonding between batteries, lenses, and windows in electronic equipment are also suitable for low energy plastic materials.
Aluminum Foil Tape
Using high-quality pressure sensitive adhesive, with good adhesion and strong adhesion. Good flame retardant performance, aluminum foil itself is a non combustible material, playing a good flame retardant role.
Characteristics of Composite Films
It has good heat-sealability. Many films, such as stretched polypropylene and polyester, have poor heat-sealability, but when combined with polyethylene with excellent heat-sealability, the heat-sealability can be greatly improved.
Good air tightness, moisture resistance and heat resistance. The performance of cold resistance, fragrance retention, and UV transmission can effectively protect products, especially beneficial to the preservation of food.
Good product performance. The composite film has good transparency, glossiness, good printability, and is suitable for decoration. In addition, it has good rigidity, stiffness, and good shelf effect, which attracts customers.
It has excellent mechanical properties. It has good tensile strength, impact resistance, tear resistance, puncture resistance, bending resistance, pressure resistance, etc., plus good adaptability, which is convenient for mechanized operation.
Lower. Under the premise of ensuring comprehensive performance, it can adopt the method of matching high and low price materials to manufacture composite films, so the total cost is lower.
Lighter and easy to carry, it can replace some metal cans, glass bottles and other packaging containers. The weight is greatly reduced, and it is also convenient to transport and carry, and it is also convenient to open.
Applications of Composite Film
Packaging
Food packaging: Barrier films to protect against moisture, oxygen, and grease, enhancing shelf life.
Pharmaceutical packaging: High barrier properties to maintain drug integrity.
Industrial packaging: Protection against chemicals and abrasion.

Electronics
Flexible displays: Substrate for OLED and other flexible electronic displays.
Capacitors: Dielectric layers in high-performance capacitors.
Printed electronics: Conductive inks on flexible substrates for printed circuits.
Solar energy
Solar panels: Protective layers for solar cells, enhancing efficiency and durability.
Solar thermal collectors: Insulating layers to minimize heat loss.

Medical applications
Drug delivery systems: Controlled release of medications through biocompatible films.
Wound dressings: Breathable and absorbent films for wound care.
Surgical implants: Bioresorbable scaffolds for tissue regeneration.
Aerospace
Aircraft components: Lightweight and high-strength composite films for structural applications.
Satellite components: Protective layers for sensitive electronics in extreme environments.

Automotive industry
Interior components: Lightweight and aesthetically pleasing films for dashboards and door panels.
Underhood components: Heat-resistant films for engine compartments.
Production Process of Composite Films
Lamination: In lamination, two or more film sheets are bonded together with an adhesive. Lamination can be performed using various methods.
Dry Laminating: This process uses an adhesive dissolved in water or solvent. The adhesive is applied to one of the film layers and then partially dried in a drying tunnel. Through pressure and heat, the adhesive is re-melted and the film is bonded to a second layer.
Wet Laminating: A viscous adhesive is applied to the film. Unlike dry laminating, the adhesive is still wet when bonding the two layers. The second layer is pressed onto the wet adhesive, and the solvent evaporates under pressure and heat.
Solvent-Free Laminating: Solvent-free adhesives generally consist of two components. When the two components meet, a chemical reaction occurs, creating the adhesive force. Since no solvents need to escape, no drying process is necessary.
Wax Laminating: In this process, the binder is made of melted wax or hot melt. It is applied to the carrier materials. This method is often used in the lamination of paper+paper or paper+aluminum combinations.
Composite Film Dos And Don’ts
Dos
● Do use the right type of composite film for the package.
● Do ensure that the surface of the box is clean and dry before taping.
● Do apply composite film firmly and smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles to maximize adherence.
● Do use the ‘H’ taping method for a secure seal.
Don’ts
● Don’t skimp on the quality of composite film to save money; it might cost you more in the long run with damaged shipments.
● Don’t use composite film sparingly; make sure all seams and edges are securely sealed.
● Don’t cover old labels with composite film if reusing a box; remove them or cover them with new labels to avoid confusion.
● Don’t rush the sealing process; taking a little extra time to do it right can save you the hassle of returns or complaints.
Storage Precautions for Composite Films
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Always store composite film rolls indoors, understanding how to store rolls of composite film effectively. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from UV light. Do not leave your composite film near the window where it can soak in UV rays for a prolonged period of time. Ultraviolet light can even penetrate the packaging over time.
Try to avoid both extreme heat and cold. High heat can cause a composite film’s adhesive system to become a sticky mess. At the other extreme, if left in vehicles during freezing temperatures, your composite film adhesive may become too brittle to work. Extreme High or low temperature exposure can change the desired performance of a composite film.
It is advised to store your composite film in such a way that you know when each lot was delivered so that you can use the oldest composite film first. Accounting experts talk about “First In, First Out” (FIFO) methods and the same principal is a best practice for warehouse composite film inventory. No matter how well you take care of your composite film, you cannot maintain its reliability indefinitely.
Don’t open composite films if you plan on using them at a later date. Ensuring an airtight seal around composite film reduces the effects of oxygen across adhesive layers. Keeping composite film in its original packaging also keeps it from being exposed to dirt and dust. This helps to make sure that the adhesive is free from contaminants, which could affect its bond.
